The 2021 Kistler Les Noisetiers has, at long last, arrived. Our allocation of this California benchmark Chardonnay from the very short 2020 harvest disappeared head-spinningly fast and we’ve been out of wine since the holidays but, we’re pleased to say, our allocation of the delicious 2021 is large enough that we can actually offer solid case sales. Our Chardonnay-loving PRIMA Vini customers who dig this sumptuous classic style will be really pleased with this new release. Like all Kistler Chardonnays, it’s richly textured, barrel-fermented and lees-stirred, giving this golden elixir its textbook Bosc pear, orange marmalade, lemongrass and just-out-of-the-oven-brioche nose. On the palate it’s as generous as ever but its acidity and structure give it so much life and one glass just won’t be enough. It wows for its depth, its length and its complexity. Beautifully balanced too, this is another extraordinary effort from the winery that virtually put this California-original style of Chardonnay on the map. Drink it now with richly-flavored fish and poultry dishes (scallops!) but it’s capacity to age is remarkable too. Case discount is only available to PRIMA Insiders.
